Pre-apprenticeships Options
At NextGen Skills, we offer two main plumbing or painting pre-apprenticeship courses, giving you the chance to try a trade and see if it’s the right fit.
Anyone who completes these pre-apprenticeship programs will earn a Certificate II in Plumbing or Building and Construction (painting), providing you with a strong foundation and a competitive edge when entering the workforce or transitioning into a full-time apprenticeship.
Full-Time Pre-Apprenticeship
This 11-week course is ideal for individuals who have left school or are looking for a career change. It provides practical experience that equips participants with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to excel in a trade, such as Plumbing and Gas or Painting and Decorating
School-Based Pre-Apprenticeship
This program is designed for students in Years 11 and 12. It spans a full year and is completed over three school terms, allowing you to gain practical experience while continuing your academic studies. Students who choose this option earn credit towards their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
